In the early morning hours of Tuesday, February 27, 2024, reports began circulating regarding Yaw Sarpong, the renowned gospel music icon, but Kofi TV has given a better perspective of issues.
These reports indicated that the beloved Ghanaian singer was purportedly suffering from a stroke.
According to allegations, gospel artist Diana Asamoah disclosed during a program on Angel FM on Monday, February 26, 2024, that Yaw Sarpong is presently contending with a minor stroke.
“It’s reported that Yaw Sarpong is currently grappling with a mild stroke, confining him to his bed and homebound. Even if a car were gifted to him now, he wouldn’t be able to utilize it.”

Furthermore, the reports indicated that Diana Asamoah’s alleged assertions were a continuation of a disclosure made by Yaw Sarpong’s intimate confidante, Maame Tiwaa. In a viral video, Maame Tiwaa was seen tearfully pleading with God to bestow ‘healing mercies’ upon Yaw Sarpong.
Following this widespread speculation, award-winning Ghanaian journalist, Kofi Adomah decided to place a call to Yaw Sarpong to inquire if he was truly down with stroke.
Well, according to the former Angel FM presenter, Yaw Sarpong and Maame Tiwaa both confirmed to him that there was no truth in the claims that he was down with stroke.
They added that the videos of Maame Tiwaa crying are old videos of the time he was sick and not now.
“After battling the sickness for some months, it got to a time I couldn’t stand on my feet so I was taken to Komfo Anokye Hospital. They did a CT and X-ray scan but told me they couldn’t detect the exact problem so I needed an MRI. Afterwards, they transferred me to the 37 Military Hospital in Accra. After the MRI test, I was told something was noticed in my spinal cord so I needed surgery.
“They also told me that they needed to cut my throat and remove my vocal folds, and after the surgery, I wouldn’t be able to talk nor walk again. They said that was the best solution for me at that moment. But Bishop Dr JY Adu helped me. A few people had suggested him to me and I never regretted going to him for my healing,” he mentioned at the time.
