Popular Artiste Manager, Clarence Kenneth Ekow Peterson Jnr, affectionately referred to as ‘King Pee’ in the showbiz industry has emerged victorious in the just ended Central Regional Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) presidential race after defeating the former Chairperson, Nana Ekua Apeatsewah Il, Queen Wan.
After almost half a decade postponement of the elections at both regional and national levels, The Central Regional Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) has finally elected a substantive President, Clarence Kenneth Ekow Peterson Jnr, affectionately referred to as ‘King Pee’ who beat off competition from Queen Wan.
MUSIGA has struggled to hold elections since 2019, after several legal tussles and other factors affected their ability to select new leaders. The exit of former President, Bice Osei Kuffour (Obour) in 2019 has marked some dark moments in the affairs of the Union.
‘King Pee’ until the election has been a renowned Artiste Manage in the Central Region.

The highly contested positions on the day of contest was between the newly elected Chairman elect and the immediate past Chairperson, who had reigned for two terms (8years), Nana Ekua Apeatsewah Il, known popularly as ‘Queen Wan’.
In an exclusive interview with ATL FM NEWS, Clarence Ekow Peterson, a.k.a King Pee following his land slide victory, intimated that as he has been trumpeting, as a core campaign message, he is a father for all and would do all his possible best to unite any supposed factions and separations in the association.
According to him, he indicated that he is going to foster togetherness in the entire region among artistes, artiste managers, Djs and all other music stakeholders.
“Currently, what I am going to focus is togetherness. I am to create a warm and all inclusive atmosphere among all the stakeholders in the music industry in the region. I am also going to ensure that musicians based in the regions are not sidestepped when it comes to event, as we often see previously, where lots of non Central Region artistes are often given the nod ahead of our own native or Central region artistes” he added.

He also mentioned that with his experience as a successful artiste manager, managing top artistes like Suzzy and Matt, Dada K.D and the likes, he has come to lessen the woes of both the main stream and underground artistes so they benefit immensely from their God given talents.
The nationwide polls as scheduled by the union came off on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at the Ato Austin Gardens in Cape Coast.
Clarence Ekow Peterson pulled 47 votes out of the total vote cast, whereas the overthrown President had 7 votes.
Meanwhile, Legendary Highlife musician Bessa Simons was also elected as the new president of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), ending years of postponed elections that have plagued the organization.
Bessa Simons who had been serving as MUSIGA’s acting president, secured a total of 324 votes, defeating his sole rival, Ras Caleb, who received 66 votes during the election.
