The KGL Group’s Board and Management has reported that they owe no money to the National Lottery Authority.
Any unsubstantiated reports had come from some parts of the media, according to the Group, with accusations referring to the other side of their argument that needed to be clarified.
“The KGL Group wishes to say categorically that it is neither indebted to nor has defaulted on payments,” according to a statement signed by the KGL Group and copied to the Ghana News Agency in Accra. As the single largest income contributor and one of the largest donors to the combined budget, KGL Group remains loyal to the NLA, as well as doing its part to promote the wellbeing of sister lotto marketing firms and actively involving management and the authority’s union.”
“The KGL Group takes the allegations extremely seriously and would refrain from making public remarks on it at this time as these are delicate contractual matters with legal consequences.”

The statement encouraged lottery players and the general public to ignore the claims in their entirety, and urged news organizations to vigorously check out information about the event from the lottery authority and related parties in order to deliver a fair and impartial story. If this should not happen, KGL will pursue court action to redress the slander.

“Against this context, the KGL Group encourages partners and third-party stakeholders to use appropriate platforms to communicate with the regulator, NLA, as the only means of sharing complaints or seeking remedies for problems, rather than resorting to politics and media battles,” it added.
“We want to reassure our customers and the general public that our pledge of ease, protection, and same-day payouts for all NLA 590 Mobile lottery play channels (*959# Web, App) remains true.”
