Kenyan officials are leading a nationwide tree-planting exercise as part of a national day of mourning for those killed in recent deadly floods.
President William Ruto has called on Kenyans to come together to plant trees, saying flooding and drought were environmental concerns.
Speaking at a tree planting event in central Kenya on Friday, he urged each Kenyan to plant at least 50 trees to accomplish the day’s target of planting 200 million trees.
