According to a US media report, a police officer who stopped Justin Timberlake before his arrest for suspected drunk-driving did not recognize the celebrity.
Timberlake had been dining with friends in Long Island, New York, before being arrested early Tuesday morning.
Sag Harbor police chief Robert Drake stated that Timberlake, aged 43, had allegedly disregarded a stop sign and had trouble staying in his lane while driving a 2025 BMW at 12:37 am. Court documents noted his “bloodshot and glassy” eyes.

“He didn’t recognize him or his name,” the source claimed. Another source reported that during the arrest, Timberlake muttered under his breath, “This is going to ruin the tour.”
Timberlake, famous for his career with boyband NSYNC and as a solo artist with hits like “Like I Love You,” “Cry Me A River,” “SexyBack,” and “Mirrors,” is scheduled to perform in Chicago this week followed by shows across the US, Canada, and Europe until December. Despite the charges against him, Timberlake’s upcoming tour dates, including one in Krakow, Poland, on 26 July, are still listed on his website.
Court documents related to the star’s arrest in Sag Harbor, a coastal village in the Hamptons, indicate that Timberlake had “a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his breath,” struggled to divide his attention, had slowed speech, was unsteady on his feet, and performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests.
Timberlake informed officers that he had consumed one martini and was following some friends home, but he refused to take a breath test.
He was subsequently taken to a police station in nearby East Hampton and was seen leaving on Tuesday morning.
