The construction of a classroom block at Nuaso Anglican Primary School in the Eastern Region was started on Wednesday by American rapper Ja Rule.
The project is being carried out in association with Pencils of Promise, a US non-profit organization well-known for building schools and improving access to education across the globe.
Ja Rule gave a speech at the function and thanked Ghanaians for giving him the chance to support education.
“I know that this is going to be an opportunity that will last for many, many years to come,” the rapper added.
He gave the people the assurance that the construction of this classroom block signifies the start of his charitable endeavors in Ghana and his partnership with the nation.
“As I look around, I see a lot of beautiful students here from Nuaso Anglican Primary. And for me, education is the pillar of any community. And so with that being said, Ghana, I appreciate you all. I thank you for accepting me as your brother,” he said.
This is a few days after he declared that he would be visiting Ghana to fulfill his earlier promise to construct a school project there.
