What We Know So Far
Leinster confirmed in a short update that Doris will be undergoing a “procedure” on his shoulder this week. They haven’t shared many details yet, just that there will be a further assessment once the surgery is done. So for now, he’s definitely out of next weekend’s United Rugby Championship (URC) game against Zebre.
What It Means for the Lions Tour
This surgery could be a major factor in whether Doris makes it onto the Lions tour at all. Farrell’s team kicks things off against the Wallabies on July 19 in Brisbane. After that, they’ll play in Melbourne on July 26 and wrap up the three-match Test series in Sydney on August 2.
Doris’s leadership and back-row presence would’ve been huge for the squad. Now it’s a waiting game to see how he recovers and whether he’ll be ready in time.
Where You Can Catch the Action
If you’re keeping up with Leinster, they’re taking on Zebre this Saturday in the URC. You can catch it live from 5:10 PM on the RTÉ News Channel and RTÉ Player. For those tuning in on the go, you’ll find updates on Saturday Sport on RTÉ Radio 1.
Let’s hope Doris gets a speedy recovery—he’s definitely one we all want to see back on the pitch soon.
