Instagram users may now schedule direct messages, a feature that was quietly introduced. TechCrunch was informed on Monday by the Meta-owned social network that the new functionality is being made available to all members worldwide.
For brands and creators who wish to plan outreach messages at the best moments, the ability to schedule direct messages will be quite helpful. Regular users who wish to contact their pals at a specific time because of time zone differences will also find it helpful. Additionally, they can utilize the ability to remind someone about something at a specific future date.
Lindsey Gamble, a social media expert, was the first to notice the new feature.

By writing a message, holding down the send button, and then choosing a time and date to send it, you can schedule a direct message. Based on our tests, Instagram allows you to schedule a message up to 29 days in advance. Every time you enter the chat window after scheduling a message, a banner indicating that you have “1 scheduled message” will appear until the direct message is sent.
Over the past several weeks, Instagram has been expanding direct messages and introducing new features for both creators and everyday users. It recently added the capability for users to direct message their friends with their location, posing a direct threat to services like Snapchat’s Snap Map and Apple’s Find My. Additionally, it began enabling users to create nicknames for themselves or other people to personalize names in direct messages.
Instagram has introduced capabilities that let creators filter and organize message requests. These messages can now be sorted by creators, brands, verified accounts, followers, and other criteria.
