Lawyer Kojo Tuffour, a private legal practitioner and security expert is asking that information on presidential travels should be made known to the public once it does not cause any threat to the security of the president.
Recently, debates have ensued on whether to make known the president’s travel information to the public.
In the latest of these debates, Bryan Acheampong, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee said he has advised the National Security Minister not to make public details of the foreign travels of the president.
According to him, it is not every information that can be divulged to the public adding that “anytime the president travels he returns with goodies. He visited Germany and he came home with vaccines. Anytime he travels, he comes with goodies”
However, in an interview on the ATLANTIC Wave Wednesday, Lawyer Tuffour indicated that it is in the interest of the taxpayer who is the citizen to know the details about the President’s travels hence the need to make available information to all.

To him “ if the cost is in the public interest, it should be divulged, because after all, it is we the taxpayers who pay for these travels and if only it will not undermine the president and his security, why can’t it be given; it should be given.”
Lawyer Tuffour said the only time the travel plans of the president should not be known is when it affects his security.
