Albert Kan-Dapaah, Minister of National Security, has concluded that his operatives’ conduct against Citi News’ Caleb Kudah violated the ministry’s operating procedures.
In a statement released on Friday, May 21, 2021, Mr. Kan-Dapaah stated emphatically that this was the case.
The Minister also ordered an inquiry into Caleb Kudah’s attack and the officers’ raids on Citi FM and Citi TV.
As a result, the Ministry of National Security has removed Lieutenant Colonel Frank Agyeman, the outfit’s Director of Operations, and three other police officers.
The three officers may be prosecuted by the Ghana Police Service and could face administrative proceedings, while Lt. Col. Agyeman may refer to the Chief of Defence for further investigation and appropriate penalties.

“The Committee [that examined the case] identified that Lieutenant Colonel Frank Agyeman (Director of Operations) and some police officers at the Ministry on the said day were improper and contravened the Ministry’s standard operating procedures,” Mr. Kan-Dapaah said in the release.
“Lt. Colonel Frank Agyeman’s (Director of Operations) secondment to the Ministry has been revoked. He continued in the sentence, “The officer is to return to the Chief of Defence for further inquiries and corrective measures.”
Mr. Kudah’s entrance into the National Security Ministry was also illegal, according to the Ministry’s announcement, but it did not specify which rule was broken.
How did we end up here?
On May 11, 2021, Mr. Caleb Kudah was detained at the National Security Ministry for filming abandoned MASLOC vehicles stored on the Ministry’s grounds.
He was at the Ministry to check on a report made by a MASLOC official that the department had distributed all of the cars it had procured.
This came after Caleb Kudah took to social media to vent about the waste of public funds.
At Citi FM/Citi TV’s headquarters, a squad of heavily armed SWAT police officers was deployed to apprehend Citi News’ Zoe Abu-Baidoo Addo.
