In a video, Ghanaians residing in Germany are seen accosting President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo with #FixTheCountry shouts.
The event, captured on film, is said to have occurred on Monday, August 23, 2021, during the President’s address in Düsseldorf, Germany, as part of North Rhine-75th Westphalia’s anniversary festivities.
Protesters began shouting as soon as President Akufo-Addo’s vehicle arrived at the event location.
When the protestors began shouting at President Akufo-Addo, he first paused to greet them (protesters) before leaving into the auditorium.
One of them said “Nana Akufo-Addo #FixTheCountry. We love you, but fix the country.”
One also said, “Nana Addo we beg you, #FixTheCountry.”
“Nana, fix the country, so we can come back home. We want to return home. We are not here to stay. Another individual said, “We want to go home.”
Another Ghanaian said, “We have oil, gold, and cocoa, yet we’re suffering here.” Fix the country for us, so we can be better people. We are not an impoverished nation.”
