The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) has arrested approximately 50 Nigerian nationals during a dawn raid at McCarthy Hills in the Ga South Municipality of Greater Accra. The operation, carried out on Thursday, July 24, 2025, followed credible intelligence on alleged human trafficking and cyber fraud activities.
A statement signed by Assistant Commissioner of Immigration (ACI) M. Amoako-Atta, Head of Public Affairs, confirmed the arrests and detailed the nature of the operation.
Intelligence-Led Operation
According to GIS, the suspects were residing illegally in the country, with several reportedly trafficked into Ghana under false pretenses. Intelligence revealed that some victims were coerced by facilitators into engaging in online fraud.
