2Baba, the renowned singer Innocent Idibia, has referred to himself as a “upcoming artist” in relation to the emerging musicians in the Nigerian music scene.
Acknowledged for his successes such as African Queen, he is considered one of the pioneers who helped shape Afrobeat into what it is today.
But lately, 2Baba has received less attention than current sensations like Asake, Rema, Omah Lay, and a host of others because he has released less records. And in his case, this has contributed to his status as a “upcoming artist.”
