The Inspector General of Police (IGP) is before the committee probing into the leaked tape over his removal from office.
However, beginning of the hearing, the Counsellor of IGP, Kwame Gyan speaking on behalf of the IGP expressed concern about the witnesses present at the hearing.
To him, the presence of the three implicated senior police officers who have gone through the process of giving their testimonies could interrupt the fair and impartial examination of the evidence.
He indicated that “Our first objection has to do with the presence of other witnesses.”
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the committee probing into the leaked tape enquiry, Samuel Atta Akyea opined that none of the witnesses present at the hearing is there to hinder the progress of the hearing.
He expressed concern about the manner in which the council for the IGP emphasized the exclusion of the implicated officers.
To him, their presence will in no way interrupt the progress of what the IGP will say.
The IGP has however given the go-ahead for the hearing to start and he has begun testifying before the committee.
