The leader and founder of the New Force, Nana Kwame Bediako has officially declared his intention to run as an independent presidential candidate in the forthcoming Presidential and Parliamentary Elections slated for December 7, 2024.
During his speech at a press conference in Accra, he outlined various national issues and how his administration would turn things around for the better for the country.
According to him, one of his primary policies is to help persons with disabilities in the country stating “many a time, persons with disability tend to be disadvantaged in society and are denied many opportunities”.
Outlining his plans for the alleviation of illegal mining in Ghana, he indicated that illegal foreign “galamsey” operators would be arrested, prosecuted and fined for the damages done to the country’s water bodies
“We are still doing illegal mining, we could have controlled them, but we let in the Chinese and there are millions of Chinese in our country and they mine 24-7. Now all our waters are poisoned and the food that we’re starting to eat is this same water system that is feeding the ground. So, believe it or not, in the next 10 to 15 years, don’t be scared if you see any children with three eyes or seven fingers. It’s happening already,” he said.
He noted that Local “galamsey” operators will be re-employed into the various jobs that he promises to create for the youths.
The leader of the New Force Movement said to salvage the situation, there is a need to engage the Chinese President on such an issue.
He said, “for me as a leader, the first thing I would do is I will stop the foreigners who are destroying my land. If the Chinese hear me, I will probably put hundreds of thousands of them under house arrest and call the Chinese president that this is what you’ve done to my country. You have cost 33 million people’s lives and therefore you are going to be responsible for building and fabricating all our plans”
He also made a clarion call to Ghanaian youths to arise and build their country adding that the youth might be making a lot of noise and not be using their voice as much as they’re supposed to.
“Don’t expect people who have outlived their future to build your future for you. So, if someone is seventy-five years old don’t think that they can think to build your future for you for the next fifty or eighty years. Leadership should start when we are young,” he intimated.
He also admonished the media to focus on presenting truthful and credible messages to Ghanaians.
He said if the media wants to grow locally and globally, they must desist from partisan influence and corruption as the growth and downfall of a country partly dependent on the media.
