Beautiful beauty queen Chidimma Adetshina, who is of South African and Nigerian heritage, has openly revealed her personal battles with the public throughout her pageant career.
In an open conversation with Big Brother Naija presenter Tacha on the Big Friday Show, Chidimma disclosed her inner turmoil resulting from her dual citizenship as a Nigerian and South African, which has caused identity challenges.
She was unable to reconcile her dual South African and Nigerian ancestry, which led her to withdraw from the Miss South Africa competition as a contestant.
“It has been a long journey, so hard at times. I would cry myself to sleep, questioning ‘Why me?’ I had to shift my perspective to see potential greatness emerging from these challenges,” she said.

After Chidimma announced that she was a Miss South Africa competitor, she faced criticism around the nation. This disappointment was quickly overshadowed, though, by an unexpected chance to compete in the Miss Universe Nigeria pageant, which she gladly accepted and opened up a new chapter in her pageantry career. The offer came from the Silverbird Group.
Chidimma stated that her goal is to become Miss Universe, a prestigious title, in response to a query concerning her dedication to pageantry.
“I think it’s something I started recently; however, I’ve had this dream since 2017 to become the next Miss Universe. I’m really glad I have been given the platform and the opportunity to at least try and reach that goal,” she said.
