Rapper Opanka hasn’t released a song in a while, but in his most recent release, Wavy, produced by Kicksbeats, he declares that he is still the greatest rapper in Ghana and that he still leads the rap scene.
In the song, which was released on January 12, Opanka brags about how great he is at the game and tells his rivals to shut up.
In his typical style, he raps on how, although latter-day saints are dismissing his significance, he has played a key role in elevating the perception of Ghanaian music rap as a pioneer.
“Why should someone tell you that Opanka is the best? You should know that he is. Check my flow and my punchlines. When I spit, it is fire and I am always on top of my game,” he raps on Wavy.

Opanka stated in an interview with Graphic Showbiz that Wavy is a song from his next EP, which will be made available at a later time.
Additionally, he stated that the song serves as a reminder to Ghanaian rappers to give him the respect he deserves because he is still the best.
“Yes, it’s been a long while I dropped a hit but I still want to tell my fellow rappers that Opanka is still around and got his A -game on. Popping ft Kwaw Kese, Tie Tie, Wo, Hold On, Trying Times are few of my songs which will let any doubter of my rap abilities know my worth,” he said.
Speaking about the EP, Opanka stated that he had intended to release it last month but had to postpone it due to the death of his older sister.
Opanka gained a lot of notoriety in the Ghanaian music scene with the release of Tie Tie ten years ago. He then released Popping, featuring Kwaw Kese, which led to a nomination for Best Collaboration of the Year at the 2014 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
Waves is expected to give him more exposure as he sparks discussion with the title of “Best Rapper.”
