The Nkawie Circuit Court has remanded a 27-year-old herbalist in custody for defiling and impregnating a 14-year-old child, preparing a concoction for her to drink, and aborting the birth.
Kwasi Ahiakpor, alias Nana Kwasi, an illegitimate small-scale miner, is accused of having impregnated the girl in the Amansie West District’s Manso Moseaso.
To enable the police to conclude their inquiries, his plea was postponed until March 31 this year.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Sylvanus Dalmeida, investigating, told Mr Johnson Abbey’s court that the 14-year-old JHS two survivor stays with her mother in Moseaso, where the accused has served as a herbalist and illegal miner.
He said that on March 19th, about 0500 hours, the victim’s mother noticed her bleeding from her private area and contacted the plaintiff, who was the victim’s older brother.

The victim confessed to being impregnated by the perpetrator after the complainant’s interrogation, according to the prosecutor.
According to DSP Dalmeida, the victim admitted that she had taken a concoction made by the accused in order to terminate the birth.
According to him, a complaint was made to the Asuowin Police Department, which detained the perpetrator, who confessed to the crime in a cautioned declaration and was charged and taken before the judge.
The prosecutor said that the matter was already being investigated by the police.
