The Joint Health Sector Unions and Professional Associations on Wednesday 20th December 2022 released a roadmap for its members in compliance with the impending strike action by the organized labour unions.
Signed by the General Secretary of HSWU of TUC, Franklin Owusu Ansah, President of GMA, Dr. Frank Serebour, President of GRNMA, Mrs. Perpetual Ofori-Ampofo, and Chairman, GHOSPA, Pharm. Nathan Coompson, the joint communique urged all health workers to follow the road map to ensure a smooth implementation of the strike action.
The roadmap for the strike indicates the following:
27th December 2022- Withdrawal of all Out-Patient services
2nd January 2023 – Withdrawal of Emergency Services
9th January 2023 – Withdrawal of all Services
This means there will be a complete shutdown of all public health facilities on 9th January 2023 if government fails to exempt the pension funds of organized labour from the Debt Exchange Programme.
