The greatest Ghanaian music producer of all time, according to Richie Mensah, CEO of Lynx Entertainment, is Hammer of the Last Two.
In a post on X, Richie wrote: “Can I just say this? The best Ghanaian producer of all time will always be Hammer.”
Obviously pleased by Richie’s post, Hammer replied: “it hits different when a great man honours you.”

Given the authority of the person who said it, music enthusiasts and fans have already begun to discuss the remark. As one of the most important figures in Ghanaian music history, Richie is a singer, songwriter, music executive, and owner of a record label. Among the artists he has collaborated with are Asem, OJ Blaq, Eazzy, Ziggi, Kuami Eugene, KiDi, and Adina.
Hammer of the Last Two, also known as Edward Nana Poku, is a well-known musician from Ghana who revolutionized hiplife in the early 2000s, when it was just getting started.
Songs by artists like Obrafuor, Tinny, Kwaw Kese, Paa Dogo, KG and PM, Sarkodie, Edem, Agbeko, and others came to life thanks to Hammer’s funky hop hop beats.
He stated a few months ago that he was returning to the active music business after a ten-year hiatus.
As a result, he has declared that his most recent music anthology, “Upper Echelon,” will be released this year. He claims that some of the best musicians in the nation will be on the record.
When asked whether he would try to experiment with different genres upon his comeback, he stated on Joy FM’s “Showbiz A-Z” that he would like to stay with his hip hop-influenced productions rather than branch out into other areas.
