Today, June 28, 2024, is the day that Hajia4Real, a Ghanaian musician and socialite, Mona Faiz Montrage, will be sentenced.
Because the socialite is a single mother whose presence in her child’s life is vital, her legal team had earlier appealed with the court for a three-month sentence.
However, the US Attorney’s Office has vehemently retaliated, arguing for the entire 37-month term with references to comparable cases.
According to the US Attorney’s Office, a shorter term won’t be just or effective in discouraging people.
The Ghanaian socialite Hajia4Real revealed that her daughter’s father was the one who first exposed her to online fraud.
She claims that she didn’t know about Allison’s fraudulent operations when she first met him in 2015 and fell in love with him in the US.
Later on, she found out he was interested in fraud, which he had exposed her to and encouraged her to pursue.
According to her, Allison has even shown their daughter irresponsibility as a parent.
Hajia4Real’s attorneys begged for a light sentence, pointing out that their client is a single mother and that her daughter could suffer if she is absent.
One case of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, one count of conspiracy to launder money, and one count of money laundering have been brought against Hajia4Reall. She also faces a five-year jail sentence for conspiracy to receive stolen money and a 10-year prison sentence for one count of receiving stolen money.
In February 2024, she entered a guilty plea to the accusations brought against her.
Hajia4Reall may have been complicit in a $2 million romance scam, according to reports. She supposedly spoke with one of her victims on several occasions and received wire transfers totaling $89,000, which were allegedly used to finance “The Enterprise,” an illusory company. She was extradited to the US to face these accusations following her detention in the UK.

A shorter term, according to the US Attorney’s Office, would be unfair and ineffective as a deterrent. They have strongly opposed it. They have provided comparable examples to back up their argument throughout the 37-month period.
