Guinness World Records has officially addressed the endeavor by Ghanaian event organizer, Afua Asantewaa to establish a new record for the longest individual singing marathon.
The organization has confirmed that they are currently in the process of evaluating the evidence submitted by Afua and will soon reveal the outcome.
This statement was issued in response to a query on TikTok by user cute_gyebuaxx, who inquired about the status of the singing marathon record attempt in Ghana.
The verified handle of the Guinness World Records responded to the text requesting about the participation of Afua, stating, “We have been examining Afua’s evidence and will inform her of the results shortly.”
On December 29, 2023, Afua Asantewaa concluded her Guinness World Record attempt to break the record for the longest individual singing marathon.
Afua Asantewaa is the first woman or female in Ghana to attempt a Guinness World Record Sing-athon in Ghana.
Singing for an impressive 126 hours and 52 minutes, she exceeded the previous record of 105 hours set by Indian participant Sunil Waghmare in 2012.
Following this achievement, Asantewaa submitted evidence of her singing attempt to Guinness World Records on January 6, 2024.
