The Guidance and Counselling Association of Ghana has congratulated Professor Ernest Kofi Davis on his appointment as the new Director-General of the Ghana Education Service.
In a statement released and signed by its National President, Professor Godwin Awabil, the Association praised Professor Davis for his exceptional academic record and decades of service to education.

According to the release, Professor Davis brings with him an exemplary record of academic excellence and visionary leadership.
The Guidance and Counselling Association noted its optimism about his leadership, expressing confidence that he will prioritize guidance and counselling in his new role at the helm of the GES.
The Association also pledged its support to work hand-in-hand with Professor Davis and the Ghana Education Service to strengthen guidance and counselling across the country’s educational institutions, aiming to ensure holistic development for all students.
Until his recent appointment, Professor Davis served as the Provost of the College of Education Studies at the University of Cape Coast, where he was lauded for championing guidance and counselling as both an academic and support service.
Over the years, he has climbed the academic ladder, from Senior Research Assistant to full Professor, publishing more than 50 peer-reviewed articles and supervising countless student theses.
He also played a lead role in developing the national Bachelor of Education curriculum in 2018.
