The government has announced an increase in the price offered to cocoa farmers at the farm gate, now set at GH¢48,000 per tonne for the upcoming Cocoa Season.
The cost amounts to GH¢3000 for each bag weighing 64 kg gross. The new prices are set to take effect starting today, September 11.

The latest price reflects a significant 129 per cent rise compared to the opening price of GH¢20,928 per tonne for the 2023/2024 period.
It is important to note that during the 2023/2024 season, the government raised prices from GH¢20,928 per tonne to GH¢33,120 per tonne, a decision influenced by the rising cocoa prices on the international market.
