The Executive Secretary of the National Coalition for Proper Human Sexual Rights and Family Values, Lawyer Moses Foh Amoaning has urged the government to act swiftly and approve the Anti-LGBTQ Bill.
Speaking to the press on Tuesday, 28th October 2025 in Accra, he emphasized that Ghanaians voted the current government to power, trusting them to make decisions that reflect the moral and cultural values of the nation and not otherwise.
He therefore said Government must act immediately on the Proper Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values Bill.
“The people of this country voted for this government with the belief that it would defend our moral and cultural values. We cannot continue to delay this bill while the people wait in frustration,” he continued.
Lawyer Moses Amoaning warned the government to not politized the issue which of national concern to win the trust of the ordinary citizen.
He stressed that the continuous delay in passing the bill shows a lack of respect for the people’s will.
“The government must stop joking with the will of the people and treat their concerns with the seriousness they deserve. This bill is not about politics; it is about protecting the soul of our nation, our traditions, our families, and our faith. Any further delay will send a wrong message, that the government does not respect the voice of the people.”
Meanwhile, the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has assured that he will get the anti-LGBTQ bill reintroduced, properly passed and signed into law for implementation.
Addressing Parliament on Tuesday, Speaker Bagbin stated that the old bill passed by the 8th Parliament expired and cannot be regarded as passed for assent by the current President.
“The eighth Parliament is history, so are all the businesses that were pending in the eighth Parliament,” he said. So, we have a new Parliament, the ninth Parliament, and therefore what was pending there came to an end and had to be reintroduced. Hold your peace, it will come sooner than later.”
