The Ghana Health Service has initiated investigations into an alleged abandonment of a patient in a bush at Gomoa Ojobi in the Central Region.
This follows media reports that the said patient was abandoned in a wheelchair and left in a bush to die.
According to media reports, the patient was earlier involved in an accident and was on admission at the Trauma and Specialist Hospital in Winneba but had no relative showing up.
It is alleged that she was conveyed in an ambulance and left in a wheelchair at Ojobi believed to be her hometown but was later found dead.
The Ghana Health Service in a statement emphasized they have launched an investigation into the matter to ascertain its truth.
Meanwhile, the service assured it will not fail to deal with the culprits according to the service’s code of conduct if found guilty and urged the public to remain calm.
