The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has issued an apology to the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene over comments made by ADO1Alex King Nartey, a member of the Service’s Public Relations team regarding the recent fire outbreak at Adum, in Kumasi.
The statement signed by the Acting Chief Fire Officer, Daniella M. Ntow Sarpong read:
“On behalf of myself and the entire Ghana National Fire Service, we unreservedly extend our profound and sincerest regret for any unfortunate comment made against your good self and reputable office as the Regional Minister and Chair of REGSEC (Ashanti Region).”
It also outlined the Ghana National Fire Service’s appreciation of Dr. Amoakohene’s efforts to seeing the fire quenched.
“We appreciate your contribution, sacrifices and untiring efforts that contributed to the Operational Response and Management of this unfortunate Fire Incident.”
The statement reiterated the Service’s commitment to the reduction of fire outbreaks in the Ashanti region.
“Kindly accept this apology and be informed of our profound and invaluable support towards the reduction of Fire Outbreaks in the Ashanti Region.”
The Acting Chief Officer in the statement assured the Minister that the officer in question will face disciplinary measures.
