The National Coordinator of the Global Evangelical Church, Reverend Mrs. Patricia Akpene Tegbe-Agbo has underscored the need to empower women for change in their financial capabilities.
She asserts that although most women depend on their spouses and also struggle with poverty there is the need for them to be liberated financially.
Highlighting the seminar’s goal of empowering women to enhance their financial independence, she indicated that the focus is on women living holily to inspire positive change in all areas of life including their finances.
In that regard, the national leadership decided to embark on a practical wealth creation strategy throughout all the 15 presbyteries of the church to help women to create and maintain wealth for themselves.
In an interview with ATLFMNEWS, she stressed “There’s no reason for any woman whatsoever to sit idle. It’s a big no in this era because, for me, I believe that God has endowed us with so much wisdom, and so much creative ability.”
Reverend Mrs. Patricia Akpene Tegbe-Agbo maintains that women must be intentional in bringing to light what God has destined them to be.
On ways to create and maintain wealth, Rev. Patricia encouraged women to avoid impulse buying while having a budget to guide their income and expenditure.
“If you are focused, you are persistent, I can assure you, you will sell pure water and you can do anything with the pure water business.”
“No genuine work should be a cause of embarrassment to any woman,” she added.
Women who participated in the business seminar mentioned that the seminar serves as a reminder to rediscover forgotten skills and knowledge to navigate daily activities effectively.
“It is going to help us … because these days things are very difficult so if you have skills plus whatever you are doing it will help you to cater for your household”
“I have learned that in whatever work I’m doing, I should have some extra business doing. I should also invest. I should also learn to budget and keep on my budget and also, I have to plan for my pension or retirement.”
The seminar is organized across all the presbyteries of the Global Evangelical Church in Ghana and is in line with the 2024 National theme for the Women’s Ministry: Empowering Women for Holiness and Change
