The Ghana Journalist Association with its media partners has revoked its blackout imposed on the member of parliament for Awutu Senya East, Mavis Hawa Koomson.
The imposition aimed at fighting for justice for a journalist at Cape FM, David Kobenna who was brutally assaulted by thugs dressed in branded t-shirts of the member of parliament during parliamentary vetting of the New Patriotic Party in Cape Coast on January 4, 2024.
The Ghana Journalist Association together with its media partners met the member of parliament, Hawa Koomson accompanied by the minister for information designate, Fatimatu Abubakar and other stakeholders in the media space on Thursday, February 15 to review the blackout imposed on the member of parliament.
This was contained in a statement on February 16The meeting concluded with Miss Hawa Koomson revoked from the blackout.
She reassured the Ghana Journalist Association and all other media houses that she would give her utmost support to ensure justice is served for David Kobenna.
Meanwhile, the GJA says the blackout on the Member of Parliament for Yendi, Farouk Aliu Mahama continues in force and therefore urged all media houses to comply with the blackout imposed on Farouk Aliu Mahama.
