Prices for bottled and sachet water in Ghana will increase beginning today, Monday, October 31, 2022.
The National Executive Committee of the National Association of Sachet and Packaged Water Producers (NASPAWAP) announced the new price last Thursday.
Prior to today, the last price increase occurred on September 19.
According to the Association, sachet water will cost ¢0.60, 500ml bottled water will cost ¢2.50, medium-sized bottled water will cost ¢3.50, and 1.5 litres of bottled water will cost ¢5.
The move, according to NASPAWAP, was necessary due to continuous increases in the cost of production inputs as a result of the cedi’s depreciation against the major trading currencies.

They explained that there may be minor differences between regions and towns due to haulage to remote and distant areas and other overheads.
According to the Association, the new prices will allow water producers to continue producing high-quality packaged water for Ghanaians.
“A bag of sachet water (500m1 x 30 sachets) will now sell for $10.00 as an ex-truck price from retail trucks.”
Businesses have been hit hard by the cedi’s depreciation, and several sachet and packaged water manufacturers have threatened to stop producing and distributing water if the government does not intervene.
