Ghanaian Highlife legend, Dada KD, has gone hard on the current NPP administration especially, the president, His Excellency, Nana Akufo-Addo over what he describes as mismanagement of the economy.

Dada KD, born Dada Kwaku Duah, is a renowned figure in the highlife music scene, boasting a prolific discography that has significantly shaped the genre. His musical journey began in the late 1980s and early 1990s, a period marked by a burgeoning interest in highlife music across Ghana.

Dada KD was speaking in an interview with Captain Smart on Accra based media house, Onua TV.

Among the plethora of things he spoke about, Dada Kweku Duah hinted that he was disappointed in Nana Addo’s government because of the untold suffering and some of the way the security handles issues concerning criticism against the government.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo

Dada KD on stating some of the reasons why he was disappointed with the Akufo-Addo led government mentioned that he was unhappy with the alleged use of the security forces to silence people who criticize the government citing a level of fear he is even exercising as he spoke against the government.

“I’m aware that national security can detain me if I sound too critical. They use such measures to suppress their critics,” he added.

The “Fatia fata Nkrumah” and “Odo mu anigyie mu anigye crooner clarified that the NPP as a party hasn’t been bad in governance, but rather the Akufo-Addo led administration has let Ghanaians down and that Ghanaians shouldn’t give power back to them.

“I’m very disappointed. It’s not that the NPP isn’t performing well in governance, but rather it’s the Akufo-Addo administration that has let us down. Regardless of whether he approves or not, we won’t vote for him again.
