“Mr. President, we are extremely happy to be here today, perhaps to continue with the conversation you and I had some few months ago when I paid you a courtesy call to your good office. Mr. President, I remember very well one important question that you posed to me and I quote, when would we start to bring back the trophies to Ghana
“Mr. President, our appearance here, is to give you a small taste of what the future holds for Ghana football. And our believe is that with the right level of support that we received on the journey to Benin and to Mauritania, this is just a tip of the iceberg and Ghana will bring back the love, Ghana will win more trophies, Ghana will be at the apex of not only African football but world football.
“Mr. President, these gallant men that you find here belong to a special group who have shown extreme level dedication, love and passion for our dear country. The journey that has brought us here today started in Benin months ago where we won the trophy as champions for the West African zone.
“The result of that singular feat is that we qualified to represented the zone on the African continent and obviously the competition that we participated that ended few days.
“These boys showed enough courage, the indomitable fighting spirit of a true Ghanaian and ensured that pride has been installed in our annals as a strong football nation.
