A 14-day Ghana Gas Processing Plant shutdown is expected to affect gas supply to some power plants and interrupt power supply to some ECG customers.
As such the electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) will soon issue a schedule to guide its consumers to this effect.
In addition, the Ministry of Energy says it is procuring additional gas from Nigeria, Heavy Fuel Oil (HFO) and Light Crude Oil (LCO) to complement available domestic gas for power generation.
Per a statement issued on Wednesday, March 29, the ministry assured that the maintenance program at the Atuabo Gas Processing Plant (GPP) will ensure the reliability of the plant and transmission infrastructure.
The ministry assured that it is actively working with stakeholders to ensure any adverse effects of the exercise are mitigated.
