Hearts of Oak suffered a 1-0 defeat in their Ghana Premier League opener, losing to newly promoted Basake Holy Stars today at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Prince Tweneboah etched his name in history as the first player to score for Basake Holy Stars in the top flight, heading in the decisive goal just two minutes into the match.
Despite controlling the majority of the game, Hearts of Oak was unable to break through the resilient defense of the league newcomers. Out of their 15 goal attempts, only three were on target, with Basake goalkeeper Abdul Wahab Abubakari pulling off key saves to secure the clean sheet.
