Justice Amekudi, the geographic information system (GIS) and data manager of Lithium Resources Ghana limited, made this declaration at Ekumfi Assaman in the Ekumfi district of the Central Region.
He said that the company’s aim was to pursue an integrated strategy of exploration, mining, and refining for lithium chemicals within Ghana.
He explains that this is a project that is in line with the government of Ghana’s new policy and plan for key minerals like lithium.
He went on to say that the finding of a lithium deposit was just the beginning of a complicated supply chain with a variety of prospects that might help the country’s transformation.
Mr. Amekudi stated that the company would endeavour to change the perception that processing or refinery factories were outside of Africa with the construction of a lithium refinery in the nation.
Speaking at a ceremony on Friday, Jonathan Boateng, the mining commission’s district manager for Cape Coast, praised the company for following all approved policies during the reconnaissance stage and declared, “We are determined to stop any company for not adhering to established protocol.”
He said the process of determining whether a resource is economically viable is known as exploration in mining, adding that companies engaged in exploration are constantly hunting for reserves to support their operations.
