The Campaign team of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful Kennedy Ohene Agyepong is hailing the Assin Central Member of Parliament as the preferred candidate to lead the NPP going into the 2024 general elections.
According to the spokesperson of the Campaign team, Kwame Owusu, Ghana needs a strict disciplinarian leader like Kennedy Agyapong to drive the country to its desired destination.
He made this comment ahead of the party’s upcoming delegates conference scheduled for November 4, 2023, to elect a new presidential flagbearer to lead the party going into the December 7, 2024 general elections.
After the balloting for the flagbearer hopefuls in Accra on September 13, 2023, the Assin South MP, Kennedy Agyapong secured the first slot with the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Former Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto and the Former Mampong MP, Francis Adei Nimo occupying the second, third and the fourth positions respectively.
Speaking on an Accra-based TV3, the Spokesperson of the Campaign team, Kwame Owusu urged the delegates to vote for Kennedy Agyapong as the flagbearer to lead the NPP to break the eight (8).
He said the fact that Kennedy Agyapong has picked number 1 does not guarantee his win in the upcoming election and therefore called on his fellow campaign team members not to relent in their campaign.
He further appealed to them to continue with the door-to-door campaign in order to increase Mr Agyapong’s winning chances to aid him in enrolling and achieved his vision and plans for the country.
