The Government of Ghana has condemned what it calls the “unprovoked Israeli attack” on the sovereign State of Qatar, which resulted in casualties, destruction of property, and heightened tensions in the region.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday, September 10, 2025, the government described the airstrikes as a “clear violation of international law and an affront to the sovereignty of Qatar.”
The statement warned that the incident undermines efforts to pursue lasting peace between Israel and Palestine, noting “This attack undermines the ongoing pursuit of peace between the States of Palestine and Israel.”
President John Dramani Mahama and the people of Ghana reaffirmed their solidarity with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and the Qatari people.
“We commend Qatar for their tireless and impressive commitment towards resolving the conflict between Israel and Palestine,” the statement added.
The ministry further appealed that the incident should not derail Qatar’s diplomatic efforts at achieving a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
