The Ghana Education Service (GES) has released school placement for graduates of the 2022 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) into Senior High Schools (SHS) and technical, vocational, education, and training (TVET) schools across the country.
This was made known by the Director General of the Ghana Educational Service, Dr. Eric Nkansah at a press conference on Wednesday 15, February 2023 in Accra.
According to the GES director out of the five hundred and forty-seven thousand, three hundred and twenty-nine (547,329) candidates, five hundred and thirty-eight thousand, three hundred and ninety-nine (538,399) candidates qualified to be placed. A percentage of 69.24 of the qualified students have automatically been placed in one of their choices.
He also stated that a percentage of 30.76 could not be matched with any of their choices, and therefore- all such students are to do self-placement to select from available schools in the self-placement portal. He however urged parents whose wards were not placed in any of their selected schools to exercise constraints because his outfit is working hard to have them placed.
Dr. Eric Nkansah further disclosed that the first-year students who have successfully received their placement are to report to school on February 20, 2023, for onward registration and orientation programs to commence on February 27, 2023, and advised parents not to pay money or anything to anyone who claims help their wards get placed.
GES gave guidelines for the self-placement module and how to access the Placement site. Individuals can also call GES call Centre number 0302 298 7654 which will be active beginning February 16th.
