GCB Bank Limited in the Central Region has made a donation of two (2) 1000 litre capacity water storage facilities to the central regional Health Service and the Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly (CCMA).
The donation formed part of the bank’s efforts geared towards supporting major players who are directly involved in containing the spread of the novel coronavirus in the region.
The central region has currently moved to the third position on the regional distribution table of Covid-19 cases in the country after it earlier relinquished the position to the western region. The region now has 360 cases. The Greater Accra region continues to lead with 5,148 cases whilst the Ashanti Region comes second with1, 099.
At the brief presentation on Wednesday, the regional manager of the bank, Mr Martin Abofra said, “We realized that water is very essential in this fight against covid19 so we decided that we will come and present to them this jumbo water storage facility so that they can put it wherever they think will be most useful in the fight against the pandemic.”
He noted the bank would continue to support other identified institutions and bodies battling the virus in due course.

The donee, Mr Emmanuel Taadi on behalf of the regional health directorate expressed gratitude to the bank for the timely donation. He was particularly grateful to the bank for its contribution to the national covid19 fund and also responding to the call of the regional health directorate for support.
At the Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly, Mr John Ebo Mensah, the metro finance officer who received the facility on behalf of the assembly also was grateful to the management of the bank for the thoughtful gesture.
Ghana has currently recorded 7, 303 cases, 2, 412 recoveries and 34 deaths. The active cases in the country stand at 4, 857. The gender distribution for the confirmed cases puts infected males at 60% and females at 40%.
