The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has announced that its 2025 recruitment and enlistment exercise will be conducted simultaneously across all 16 regional capitals, a move aimed at ensuring fairness, transparency, and equal opportunity for qualified applicants nationwide.
In a statement signed by Captain Veronica Adzo Arhin, Acting Director General of Public Relations, GAF urged the public to remain vigilant against fraudulent recruitment messages currently circulating on WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, and other online platforms.
“These messages are fake and should be disregarded. The Armed Forces does not issue direct invitations through officers or the High Command,” the statement stressed.
Equal Access for All Regions
Traditionally, GAF recruitment has been centralised, making it challenging for applicants in distant regions to participate. This year’s decision to expand the process across all regional capitals reflects a deliberate effort by the military to decentralise and promote inclusivity.

The official recruitment details will only be published on the GAF’s website—https://gafonline.mil.gh/—as well as in state-owned newspapers such as the Daily Graphic and Ghanaian Times.
Warning Against Fraud
The Armed Forces has long warned of scammers who exploit the recruitment period to defraud unsuspecting applicants and their families. With the annual enlistment considered one of the most competitive career opportunities for young Ghanaians, fraudsters often prey on desperate applicants by promising placement in exchange for money.
To protect the integrity of the process, GAF appealed to the public to report suspicious messages and avoid relying on unverified sources.
Transparency and National Security
Officials emphasised that the credibility of the recruitment exercise is crucial, not only for fairness but also for safeguarding the quality of the Armed Forces. By ensuring that only genuinely qualified candidates are recruited, GAF hopes to strengthen the military’s readiness and preserve public confidence in its operations.
Competitive but Transparent Process
Each year, thousands of young Ghanaians apply to join the Armed Forces, but only a fraction are successful after passing through rigorous medical, physical, and academic evaluations. GAF reassured prospective applicants that transparency remains central to the 2025 recruitment and that selection will be based solely on merit.
“Applicants are strongly advised to follow only official channels to avoid being victims of fraud,” the statement concluded.
