Some oil marketing companies (OMCs) have begun to raise fuel prices at the pump since the first pricing window opened in July.
According to energy think tanks such as the Chamber of Petroleum Consumers and the Institute for Energy Security, this is due to growing international refined petroleum product prices and the Cedi’s devaluation.
In keeping with this trend, certain oil marketing businesses, such as Star Oil, have begun to raise their pricing. Currently, a litre of petrol is selling for GHȼ13.83, up from GHȼ13.66 in the second price window of June, while diesel is selling at GHȼ14.79, up from GHǼ13.97 in the second pricing window of June.

Shell prices a liter of fuel at GHȼ14.80 and a litre of diesel at GHȼ14.92. Previously, petrol was sold at GH14.60 per litre, while diesel was sold at GHȼ14.75 per litre in June’s second price.
Major market players, including state-owned GOIL and Total Energies, have yet to announce price increases.
GOIL sells fuel at GH₵14.80 per liter and Diesel XP for GH₵14.92 per liter.
Total Energies has maintained its fuel price at GH¢14.85 and diesel at GH₵14.95 for the past two pricing windows.
