Former chairman for the People’s National Convention (PNC), Bernard Mornah has questioned the credibility regarding the arrest of some QNET agents Huhunya in the Eastern Region.
The Ghana Police command in a special operation with the Ambulance Service personnel from the Counter-Terrorism and Concentration Camp in Huhunya in the Eastern Region on Friday arrested some agents of the global e-commerce company, QNET.
But speaking to the media on this development, Mr. Mornah said the police have no reason to arrest the agents of QNET unless it is proven that their operations in the country are illegal.
He also added that such actions of the police sometimes taint their credibility.
“The fact that there are Nigerians, Burkina Bes, and Malians does not take away the fact that they can probably participate in this commerce. I am a bit doubtful. What is the motivation?” He questioned.
Meanwhile, Court processes have begun at the Koforidua Circuit Court A and their appeal for bail application was not granted by the presiding judge, Her Honour Marian Affoh Polley.
Investigations by the police continue to unravel how several people have been influenced to engage in their activities.
On Friday, the Head of Consult for the Qnet Company in Ghana, known only as Mr. Yeboah, argued their business was genuine.
He said they sell products from GH¢4,300 and above to their clients and lure them to get others on board for commission.
Others are promised exchange programmes with universities outside the country.
