Head of the Central Analysis and Forecasting Office at the Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet), Madam Felicity Ahafianyo has urged the general public to make it a point to follow keenly the weather forecast of the Ghana Meteorological Agency so that they will know when the rains are coming and take the necessary precautions.
This follows an earlier warning from the Agency of a possible rainstorm at the coast of Ghana which was expected to produce a moderate to heavy thunderstorms.
The GMet urged all Ghanaians, especially those at the coastal cities to be alert to avoid any occurrences that has the tendency of endangering their lives.
Speaking in an interview with ATL FM News, Madam Ahafianyo indicated that “GMet is releasing at least three forecast in a day and three forecast in a week so the public should try as much as possible to get hold of any of them between now and October so that they will know when the rains are coming.”
She further added that “the state of the sea is still rough so as the fisher folks go about their fishing activities they need to do it with caution.”
