Actress and businesswoman Fella Makafui has officially requested that her estranged husband, Samuel Adu Frimpong, also known as Medikal, be the subject of an investigation by the Ghana Police Service’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
She alleges that false news she published put her life in danger, which is the reason for the petition.
She claims in her petition that Medikal’s acts are against the dissemination of false news as defined by Section 208 of the Criminal Code of 1960, Act 29.
She claimed that his acts are against Sections 76 (1) and 76 (2) of the Electronic Communications Act 2008 (Act 775), which forbid transmitting any incorrect or misleading information that could jeopardize someone’s safety.

The petition draws attention to Medikal’s most recent social media posts, in which he revealed some mistreatment he received from Fella Makafui, including verbal and physical violence.
Makafui claims that these posts have seriously distressed her and sparked threats against her.
In January 2024, Fella Makafui and Medikal made the decision to separate.
Fella asserts that despite their agreement to share parenting of their kid, Medikal has persisted in making unfounded charges on social media.
She stresses that since they decided to get a divorce, they have not spoken, and that Medikal’s untrue allegations have endangered her life.
Exhibits of the purportedly fraudulent news articles are included by Makafui in her plea, in which she also requests that the CID move quickly to resolve the issue.
She asks the Police to step in and extends an invitation to Medikal to help with the false publication probe.
Makafui’s petition has not yet received a response from the Ghana Police Service.
