The nominees for the 76th Emmy Awards,(2024) television’s premier accolade, were announced on Wednesday morning, sparking excitement throughout the industry.
FX’s beloved series “The Bear,” set in a Chicago sandwich shop, led the pack with 23 nominations, surpassing the previous record of 22 set by NBC’s “30 Rock” in 2009.
In the drama category, “Shōgun” took the lead with 25 nominations this year.
However, HBO’s “Game of Thrones” still holds the all-time record of 32 nominations since 2016, highlighting its enduring impact.
Notable omissions this year included past favorites like “Succession” and “Ted Lasso,” while “The Crown,” “The Morning Show,” and “Only Murders in the Building” emerged as the new “legacy shows,” garnering multiple nominations.
Sheryl Lee Ralph and Tony Hale announced this year’s nominees, with Ralph herself receiving a nomination for best supporting actress in a comedy for her role in “Abbott Elementary,” a category she won in 2022.
The 2024 Emmy Awards promises to be a night of exciting feel of creativity and creative minds being acknowledged.
The 76th Emmy Awards ceremony will be broadcast on Sunday, September 15 at 8 p.m. ET/ 5 p.m. PT on ABC, with streaming available the following day on Hulu. Below is a list of nominees in some of the top categories:
