Rapper Okyeame Kwame of Ghana has questioned Graphic Showbiz’s rating system for the best rappers in Ghana.
The 12 GH Greatest Rappers of All Time have been selected by Graphic Showbiz as a tribute to Ghana’s rich rap history.
The official ranking was released on June 27 and was judged on lyrical content, flow, storytelling, experience, language, cultural significance, creativity, vocal delivery, and wordplay, according to Graphic Showbiz.
The twelve rappers who made the list were Sarkodie, Obrafour, Okyeame Kwame, Okomfour Kwadee, Lord Kenya, Manifest, Tinny, Reggie Rockstone, Strongman, Eno Barony, Guru, and Amerado.

Speaking with ZionFelix in an interview, the “Rap Doctor,” who came in third on the list, countered that anyone creating a list like that without include EL, Edem, and Flowking Stone might not have consulted rappers in their study.
“What criteria did Graphic Showbiz use for that list? RAP is Rhythmic African Poetry; so did they look out for the rhythm, the ‘Africanness’ or the poetry? Did they use popularity or influence? Or it is based on being able to really rap?
“Because when I saw the list I didn’t understand why EL, Flowking Stone and Edem Goget’em were not part. What kind of list is this? When we talk about best rappers of all time in Ghana, you can’t take these three people out,” he said.
Along with the three rappers that Okyeame Kwame named, Ghana is home to a number of other excellent rappers, including Medikal, Omar Sterling, Lyrical Joe, and Ponobiom.
