The Abura Zonal Missionary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission, in Cape Coast, Central Region, Maulvi Abubakar Anderson has called on Muslims to sustain the discipline, sacrifice, and moral uprightness exhibited during the holy month of Ramadan beyond the Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations.
In an exclusive interview with ATL FM News after leading the Eid prayers at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium, Maulvi Anderson emphasized that Eid-ul-Fitr is not only a day of celebration but also a moment of reflection and renewed commitment to righteous living.

According to him, Ramadan serves as a spiritual training period where Muslims consciously abstain from negative behaviors and devote themselves to acts of worship, sacrifice, and self-discipline.
“This day marks the end of fasting, but it does not mark the end of the sacrifices we made. The discipline, patience, and good character we practiced during Ramadan must continue in our daily lives,” he stated.
Drawing from Islamic history, the missionary highlighted how companions of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) sacrificed their time, wealth, and even their lives for the progress of Islam, urging believers to emulate such dedication in modern times.
He further noted that Ramadan provides a powerful reminder for Muslims to refrain from wrongdoing and uphold good moral values throughout the year.
“This month is a period of training. We refrained from bad behaviors, and we are encouraged to continue living by those values even after Ramadan,” he added.
While encouraging celebration, the Maulvi cautioned against excesses that often characterize festive periods.
He stressed that Islam promotes moderation and warned that indulgence beyond prescribed limits could undermine the spiritual benefits gained during Ramadan.
“Eid is a day of joy, but we must celebrate within the boundaries set by the Holy Quran. We should not engage in activities that harm ourselves or others,” he advised.
He also used the occasion to call for unity and peaceful coexistence among people of all faiths, extending goodwill to both the Muslim and Christian communities.
The Eid prayers at the Abura Stadium were attended by a large number of Ahmadiyya Jama’at members, all dressed in colorful festive attire, creating a vibrant and spiritually uplifting atmosphere.
To crown the celebration, meals were shared among members and guests, symbolizing unity, love, and togetherness, key values promoted during the Ramadan period.
The event ended on a joyful note, with participants expressing gratitude for a successful Ramadan and hope for continued peace and harmony in the community.
