The Ministry of Education has announced investigations into a viral social media post alleging that admission into Aburi Girls Senior High School costs GHC 15,000.
The post, attributed to one Gertrude Adzo Borklo, circulated widely before the account was deactivated. According to the Ministry, efforts to reach the alleged poster proved unsuccessful.
In a statement issued on September 25, 2025, the Ministry condemned the act, noting a trend of anonymous individuals hiding behind unidentified accounts to spread falsehoods. It added that it is working closely with the Cyber Security Authority and other agencies to track down those behind the post to assist in investigations.
The Ministry stressed that the Computerized School Placement System (CSSPS) remains free of charge, urging parents and guardians not to pay anyone for placement services.
It further encouraged the public to report any individual, whether within or outside the Ministry who demands money for placement.
