The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) will commence ‘Operation Fix the Bill & Pay the Bill’ in its operating zones today, November 6, 2023, and run it through Monday, December 11, 2023.
As per the company’s statement, the purpose of the exercise is to obtain consumption readings from its postpaid customers so that the company can generate genuine bills. Additionally, the company aims to confirm the accuracy of metre readings, establish trust in the bills it sends to customers, and retrieve outstanding payments from customers.

In a press release released on Sunday, November 5th, the ECG said, “In this regard, the regional and district offices will operate with a lean staff pool who will provide essential services to customers during this exercise to enable total participation by top Management and staff.”
It went on to say: “ECG wishes to state that the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission’s LI (2413) gives us full access to all our installations, therefore customers and the general public are being advised to cooperate with ECG to carry out our mandate.”
