The Electricity Company of Ghana, ECG, has alleged that the proprietors of the well-known venue, Fantasy Dome, have been involved in illicit meter tampering.
The ECG claims that Fantasy Dome has been bypassing its meter and illegally tapping into the public electricity grid.
In a notice dated Wednesday, March 20, 2024, the ECG directed the management of Fantasy Dome to correct their power connection within 48 hours from the issuance of the notice.
The notice cautioned that failure to adhere to this directive could lead to the ECG initiating legal action against Fantasy Dome, at its discretion.

Over the weekend, Fantasy Dome was demolished, sparking controversy.
Leslie Quaynor, the Chief Executive Officer of Fantasy Dome, alleged in an interview with Sammy Flex that the Ghana Trade Fair Company, with the assistance of some National Security operatives, carried out the demolition exercise.
It has been alleged that the National Security led the demolishing process much to the surprise of Mr Quaynor.
Detailing the events that led to the demolishing, Mr Quaynor, in an interview with JoyNews, and monitored by atlfmnews desk, narrated that his lease had ended and the process to relocate the dome to another venue was underway.
“Obviously, this is a huge edifice, it is not something you just pick up and relocate. I have been looking for land, I need about 45 acres of land to move to and I have found a couple of places, especially at the University of Ghana, Legon. We are in the final stages of negotiating the lease, so I requested a 60-day extension from the Trade Fair” he explained.
However, the management of the Trade Fair did not agree to the extension and insisted on taking back ownership of the land.
